Mission Support First Baptist Church partners with other Southern Baptist churches to support over 10,000 missionaries ministering around the world. Organizations that First Baptist supports include: The Cooperative Program (Arkansas Baptist State Convention, Southern Baptist Convention, International Mission Board, North American Mission Board), Red River Association, and the Baptist World Alliance. Through our support of the Red River Association, we contribute to Lighthouse Ministries and to the Disaster Relief Program. Harold Johnson, FBC member and RRBA Disaster Relief Team Leader and other volunteers from FBC have worked diligently in support of the disaster relief effort following the hurricane season. In addition to our regular monthly support to these organizations, our church also participates in special mission offerings throughout the year, including the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (international missions) and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (North American missions). First Baptist Church also sends out teams of members for short-term missions projects. In 2005 and 2006 youth from our church partnered with other churches to go on a Mission trip to Russia. In July of 2006 members of FBC attended a FBCA mission trip to Theriot, Louisiana. at Bayou DuLarge Baptist Church. In 2007 a medical mission team from FBCA traveled to Brazil. In July of 2008 members of FBC will participate in a second medical mission trip up the Amazon River to villages in Brazil. Members of FBC youth will fly to Chile for a mission trip and members of FBC also go to Kansas for a disaster relief mission trip.
