After serving for 8 years as First Baptist’s Student Pastor, Jimmy became Senior Pastor in June of 2017. Jimmy is married to Micah Darby, and they have two children: Hayden and Kayla. The Darby’s love Jesus, movies, baseball, books, good food, and spending time with their First Baptist Family!
Will Thompson has led First Baptist’s music and senior adult ministries since 1998. He directs the adult and youth choirs, leads worship, and plans senior adult luncheons. He also enjoys singing with the Arkansas Master’Singers and The CenturyMen, and playing the viola, guitar, and bass. His wife Janie is a full-time partner with him in ministry, leading a children’s choir, handbell choirs, a women’s Bible study, and the college Sunday School. Their daughter, Sarah, has two boys, Josiah and Daniel, and serves as a missionary in South Asia. Their son Philip lives in Oklahoma, and is the father of Jameson.
Joey Dodson has served as First Baptist’s Associate Pastor since 2011. Joey provides pastoral care to young adults. He and his wife, Sadie, have five children, Sadie, Mattie Mae, Kinnon, Aidan, Lain and Caspian.
Our minister to children since 2014, Nancy Harrell serves children from birth through fifth grade, in which she plans activities, recruits and trains volunteers, organizes curriculum and prays and communicates with children and parents. Nancy and her husband, Tim, have three sons, Henry, Peter and Charlie. Nancy earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Ouachita Baptist University, and later received a master’s degree in Christian Formation and Ministry from Wheaton College.
Ardith Franklin has served as First Baptist’s church administrator since 2004. She provides administrative leadership, supervising and facilitating the day-to-day administration in the church. Ardith also leads the Benevolence Ministry and serves as the County Coordinator for The CALL of Clark County, recruiting, training and supporting foster and adoptive families in Clark County. She earned a bachelor degree at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX and a Master of Religious Education at Fort Worth Theological Seminary. She is married to Ray, professor of Christian Missions at Ouachita Baptist University. They were IMB missionaries to Japan for 23 years before coming to Arkadelphia. Their daughters, Ariane and Angela, work as a counselor and worship leader, respectively. Their son, Reece, is a media technician. Ardith and Ray have two grandchildren, Kayson and Annalee.
Roberta Long joined First Baptist’s staff in 2004 and serves as the church’s food services director and church hostess. Roberta plans and prepares each meal for church events and the church’s numerous ministries, while managing the kitchen and equipment. She also works with church staff and ministry leaders to promote fellowship and community. Her other involvements include Sanctuary and Young at Heart Choirs, Home Group Ministries, Arms Around Arkadelphia and Bereavement Ministry Teams. Roberta is married to John, and the two are blessed to say FBC has become their family.
Hired in 2007, Lydia Rogers performs accounting functions, maintains payroll and tax documentation, manages accounts payable and prepares various financial reports. She also aids First Baptist by serving in the children’s department. Lydia is married to Rickey, and the two have three children, Rickey Jr., Reyna and Ryan.
