FBCA Youth Chile Mission
Trip
To Santiago, Chile
June 30
- July 10, 2008

It's been a busy
weekend.
Our activities
over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, included...
An English class at the Cases' home where the students sang, gave testimonies,
and performed a drama.
A soccer tournament for grade school boys in a housing project. We cheered,
refereed, gave testimonies, and performed another skit.
We traveled by train to a shopping area.
More drama, testimonies, and singing at a youth rally and a mission church.
Next time I hope to show photos of our trip into the Andes mountains.

Day three in Chile: Our work
today was much the same as yesterday except we interviewed more people and had
help from two new MKs. The saddest interview was of a man in his 40s sitting in
a park. He had just lost his job 10 minutes before our team walked up to him.
The weather (like God) is amazing. The kids are doing a great job with a
tremendous attitude. You would be proud of them.Tomorrow they will do more
interviews, but in the evening they will give testimonies, sing, and do one skit
at a house meeting.
Thanks for all your prayers.

Below are pictures from our
second day. Today we did a prayer walk in our
target neighborhood, Then we had lunch at a local restaurant run by a
lady who lived in Los Angelas and loves the United States. She and her
husband were delighted to have us there. She called all the kids angels.
After lunch we had a little free time in a park where our young people
took lots of photos of themselves having fun.
Soon, however, it was time to get down to business. We spent the
greater part of the afternoon conducting "culture surveys" on busy
street corners. The kids did very well. Even the "shy" ones really got into it.
Around 5 pm we took the bus back to our apartments and finished the day
eating "empanadas" and debriefing our experiences.
The weather is beautiful; highs in the mid 60's, dry and comfortable.
The smog is real but not so bad. We still can see the Andes towering in
the background. More tomorrow,

Chile.
Chile Youth Mission Team and Sponsors
From the Sponsors Ray and Ardith Franklin:
First, we want to thank First Baptist and all the
friends and relatives of this group who gave so sacrificially so that we might
go. We realize that without your financial support, we could not have this great
opportunity. We are very grateful.
IMB missionaries Cliff and Cinthy Case and their son
Clayton will be our guides, hosts, and interpreters while we are in Santiago. We
will be prayer walking, visiting in schools, helping with culture exchange and
soccer events, doing cultural surveys, stuffing packets, and helping with
worship and activities in two mission churches and one established church.
PLEASE
PRAY for us
spiritually -- that we are people who love the Lord with all our hearts and love
others as we love ourselves. Pray that we will be willing obedient servants of
Christ ready to do whatever he may call us to do. Pray that God will work in our
lives and in the lives of all the people we meet -- that we may honor Christ
with our words and actions. Lastly, please pray for our health and safety.
